| A NEW EXPERIENCE |
From the time your baby is born until they are 4-6 months old, they can get all the nutrients needed from breast milk or infant milk formula. Between 4 and 6 months the digestive system will be developed enough to start on solid foods. More importantly, your baby now needs more iron and nutrients than milk alone can provide, to ensure healthy growth.
Weaning expands your baby’s diet and introduces new textures and flavours. It also helps your baby learn to bite and chew, which is important even before their first teeth have come through, as it helps to develop the muscles used for speech.
Last but not least, your baby can join in family meals, and both you and your baby can start to become more independent.
